Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

La Tour Americaine
This couple from France bicycled through town last Memorial Day on tour of the west coast of the U.S. When I met them, they were searching for a welding shop to repair a piece of broken equipment. I wasn't optimistic they'd find one open on a national holiday. However, they e-mailed a couple of months later after they'd returned to France and informed me it'd been taken care of by a truck-stop in nearby Medford. They also said they were impressed by the county's beauty and the friendliness of the people they'd encountered along the way.
