Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Meet the Pioneers
This couple was in Lithia Park Friday going over a script for a local production called, "Meet the Pioneers". The pioneers in this case are early settlers and residents of nearby Jacksonville, OR, a historic old mining town. These nice people are part of a troupe of actors who dress in vintage garb from the late 1800's and assume the roles of townspeople from that era and tell their stories. The event takes place October 11th and 12th at the Jacksonville Cemetery, a site replete with old gravestones providing connections to the area's colorful past.
