Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

We Are Here
A full-size bronze replica of a wood sculpture stands now where Lithia Way and North Main merge. The original wood statue, entitled "We Are Here" has been moved to the Hannon Library at Southern Oregon University. Local attorney Lloyd Haines (middle) provided the site, sculpture Jack Langford (L) did the bronze casting and Jesse Biesanz (R) is building the stone base. The statue commemorates the native people that inhabited this area for generations before settlement by the white man.
