Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Doggedly Waiting
This slightly porcine-looking pooch was patiently waiting for its owner in the front seat of a pickup parked on "A" Street outside the Ashland Recycled Furniture store. He allowed me to get close enough for one picture then ducked out of sight. I found out the dog's name is Jackson and that he is what they call a "rescue dog" - meaning he was adopted through the animal shelter. He is also deaf and his owner communicates with him thru sign language. (Photo taken with iphone)
