Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Film Festival
Yesterday, the Ashland Independent Film Festival began its five day run featuring a total of 94 feature length and short films. AIFF Executive Director Anne Ashbey Pierotti performs ribbon cutting duties while Ashland Mayor John Stromberg (in brown jacket) looks on. Now in its 11th year, the festival attracts over 7,000 people to the historic art-deco Varsity Theatre to see films and meet the filmmakers.
