Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Ashland Food Project
The Ashland Food Project is an all-volunteer community organization that enables residents to contribute food items on a regular basis to the Ashland Emergency Food Bank and other charitable organizations. On the second Saturday of every other month, volunteers collect green bags that have been filled with grocery items and bring them to the Food Bank. Since its inception in 2009, the Food Project has been tremendously successful and has been duplicated by other communities throughout Jackson County. The program is also being studied by other towns throughout Oregon and California. Here, the bags are be being dropped off by those volunteers and weighed, sorted and organized for distribution.
