Plaza Makeover 2

Various elements in the Plaza near completion as the dedication ceremony slated for this Friday approaches. Artist Sue Springer (left) and a pair of assistants prepare the next section of mosaic she designed for installation along the base of one of the new seating benches.

Ann of the Ashland Parks Dept. adds a few last plantings to the landscaping being installed as part of the new Plaza design.

This young man poses in front of a tree he and some 3rd grade classmates planted 20 years ago as part of a Briscoe Elementary School project.  The tree is one of the few landscape features remaining from prior to the Plaza makeover.
