Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Get 'N Gear
Get 'N Gear sells just about everything imaginable in the way of recreation equipment: Camping and hiking gear, skis, snowshoes and snowboards, used bicycles & accessories - you name it. Most of the items are 2nd hand, so useful things are being recycled - right in keeping with the Ashland ethic. Owner Greg Hayden bought the business in 2007 and says they've been busy, but he'd like to see more snow up on Mt. Ashland than we've had up to this point in the season.
A father watches as his son navigates a battery-powered toy plane they just bought at the store.
