Saturday morning, William Reed, an art student at the Ashland Academy of Art, was painting a street scene in the historic railroad district. The ancient gas pump is in front of the old Haskin's Garage, which is now a used book store. The school where William is studying specializes in teaching the methods and techniques of the old masters of figurative art and still lifes; but he says he also enjoys plein air painting of landscapes and street scenes.
