Yesterday, the traditional New Year's Day Polar Plunge took place at Reeder Reservoir at the top of Lithia Park. Approximately 40 people braved the cold morning temperatures (in the 20's) and waded into the icy water. A thin sheet of ice lining the shoreline had to be broken apart before they could walk in.
