Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Culinary Festival
The Ashland Culinary Festival is taking place this weekend at the historic Ashland Armory. The event is sponsored by the Ashland Chamber of Commerce and is in its 7th year. Chefs representing a number of local restaurants demonstrate their skills and compete in a cook-off contest of sorts. Other food-related and wine vendors are on hand to offer free samples of their wares - including Tesoaria Vineyard & Winery of Roseburg, Oregon. Cody Bottorff pours different varieties of the product for festival attendees to try.
