Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

A Metered Response
It must be a slow photo day if I'm posting a picture of graffiti…I'm not a fan and grew way weary of its omnipresence in L.A. when I lived there. Thankfully, such acts of scribbled vandalism are scarce in this town. The bank of meters, located in a small alley off Oak Street, has always caught my eye as a photographic possibility. While walking by recently, I noticed the added feature on the wall. Despite reservations about giving the drawing anymore of a public forum, the combination proved too intriguing to pass up.
