Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Siskiyou Challenge
The Siskiyou Challenge is an annual race comprised of 6 legs including running, bicycling, and kayaking. Participants can race individually (solo) or as part of a team. The event is part of fund-raising on behalf of Rogue Valley Farm to School, which "educates children about our food system through hands-on farm and garden programs…"
While the race is a competition with awards provided by race sponsors, this being Ashland, an element of frivolity exists that keeps it from becoming TOO serious.
