Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Fun Couple
When this pair came riding up on bicycles at Noble Coffee yesterday morning, my friend the esteemed artist and wit, Frank Barlow, observed that they probably weren't from around here. It turned out they're from New York and Los Angeles/Milan, originally Germany and Holland. Eva Mueller and Rohn Meijer are both renowned fashion, portrait and art photographers visiting family here in Ashland.
Nearly all of the images I've posted in the past months have been shot on my iphone. This is the first one taken with an ipad. As I was framing the shot, Eva joked about shooting large format, "like a Linhof" as she put it. So here it is - one of my first compositions using an "Apple Linhof".
