Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Cycle Oregon
For the last two days, the Cycle Oregon folks have been in town. Cycle Oregon is an annual event during which 2,200 bicyclists ride on the highways and backroads of Oregon. The nearly 500-mile trip takes about a week and this year Ashland is one of the stopover spots. A tent city sprouted up Wednesday on the ballfields of Southern Oregon University and will be taken down today as the riders move on to their next stop.
