Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Super Nova
I'm not a "car person" by nature but every once in a while I'll see a vehicle that captures my fancy as a subject to photograph. It's usually of an older vintage, the finish faded and splotched with oxidation. However, in this case, it was the model and bright orange color, racing stripes and mag wheels that got my attention. This Chevy Nova - I'm guessing about a 1975 - stood out due to the fact that it's somewhat of an anomaly in this town. Subaru Foresters, Outbacks and Toyota Priuses rule here - Muscle cars or their pretenders are few and far between. All this explains why I felt compelled to hoist my camera and document this rare sighting.
