Portland artist and former Ashland resident Jamie Newton mounts one of his pieces on the wall at Hanson Howard Gallery as gallery owner Judy Howard looks on. Opened in 1979, Judy's gallery is the oldest one in Ashland and displays works from primarily Northwest artists. Jamie works in a wide variety of mediums and draws on many influences, including nature, asian art, and mechanical objects.
