Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

First Friday
An art lover and her dog pause in front of the Illahe Studio & Gallery on 4th Street yesterday evening. Ashland is home to over 30 art galleries and has been designated as one of the "Best Small Arts Towns in America". On the first friday of each month, galleries stay open until 7 or 8 in the evening for visitors to come see new showings. This event is well-attended, as there are a lot of locals and tourists who enjoy art, and it provides a lively social venue.
