Last Saturday, a tailgate gathering was taking place adjacent to the Southern Oregon University football stadium where the Raiders were about to take on Simon Fraser University. This convivial group consisted of family members there to celebrate the induction of Dusty McGorty (on the left) into the SOU Sports Hall of Fame at halftime. Dusty holds 12 current SOU records from his stint as a running back during the 1998-03 seasons and was an NAIA All-American. He also played one game with the St. Louis Rams, making him the first former Raider to appear in a regular season NFL contest.
Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.
