Brian McGuire (holding timer on left) is a teacher at Talent Middle School and has initiated a fund-raising effort for one of his special-needs students. Sheldon Derr is a 13 year-old with Muscular Dystrophy whose family lacks the resources to upgrade their vehicle to accommodate his wheel chair. Brian, along with Rogue Valley Runners store owner Hal Koerner organized the run, which started and finished at the North Mountain Park Nature Center last Saturday. Runner Matt Oliva approaches the finish line and is then greeted by his proud daughter, Tate.
Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.
