Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home. As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

Breaking Ground
Yesterday, a ceremony was held marking the start of replacing the existing grass football field with a state-of-the-art synthetic turf at the Ashland High School's Phillips Field. The $1.56 million project was kicked off by a donation of $650,000 by AHS alum and major league baseball pitcher Jeremy Guthrie. Below, current AHS Football Coach Charlie Hall and former football coach and athletic director Jim Nagel hold one of the ceremonial gold-painted shovels.
