We just experienced our first snowfall of the season here on the valley floor yesterday afternoon. Also, the trains began running again recently after a hiatus of a couple of years. Shoring up a tunnel running through the Siskiyou summit and track repairs have finally been completed, allowing freight shipments to resume. Passenger service to Ashland was discontinued in the 1950's.
