Yesterday my wife and I attended an open house at Equamore, a sanctuary for injured, neglected, or abused horses. An unfortunate fact of life is that there are these animals that for one reason or another must be rescued from dire conditions. The Equamore Foundation, headquartered here in Ashland, takes in these poor creatures, patiently and lovingly treating and rehabilitating them back to health. The foundation relies on a lot of volunteer effort and funding from donations to do their good work. The open house was a way to publicize their efforts and introduce attendees to the horses.
