Ashland, Oregon is a town of 21,000 that has a lot in common with other small towns across America. It also has qualities that make it truly unique. Home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, people from various backgrounds and places have chosen to call Ashland home.
As a photographer, I thought it would be a worthwhile project to document the varied aspects of Life in Ashland.

This weekend, artist and printmaker Denise Kester held an open house at her rustic studio on Oak Street. Pieces of her art were for sale, along with 5 other local artists' works. Denise received her art education from the University of Georgia and Southern Oregon University, teaches classes in monoprinting and says about her work, "Animals, heroes, people, and symbols come into my dreams and my art for a reason and it is up to me to find out why".
