Barry's Straw House

My friend Barry Peckham is building his new house using straw mixed with clay as the insulating materials for the walls.  When the walls are completely dry, he'll coat them with stucco.  It may be a few weeks (or months) as we're now entering a wetter, cooler season.  Despite his expression in this picture, Barry is a pretty upbeat, optimistic guy;  the thought of moving in before the walls are covered doesn't faze him.
